- Computational Enzyme Design for the Production of Renewable Value-Added Chemicals

SEATTLE, December 8, 2009 – Arzeda Corp announced that it has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) phase I grant in the amount of $149K for the computational design and experimental validation of an enzyme for the production of butadiene, an important and widely-used chemical intermediate, from plants and plant-derived materials rather than from petroleum.

- Custom Enzyme Design Technology to Bring More Options to Global Agriculture

DES MOINES, Iowa, and SEATTLE, July 13, 2009 -- DuPont and Arzeda Corp. today announced a technology collaboration to develop new traits to increase agricultural productivity.

Under the agreement, DuPont business Pioneer Hi-Bred will use novel enzymes designed by Arzeda to develop next generation seed traits in crops of worldwide agricultural importance such as corn, soybeans, rice, cotton and canola.
